Biological Discovery

In this assignment, Discussion groups have been assigned to work together to come up with one articles of interest. Members of the assigned group will get together through group discussion format (or which ever format the choose) and come up with a short articles/website that addresses or talks about the current lab. The group will post a link for discussion that deals with the lab topic, such as cells, evolution, biodiversity, and genetics. Articles can be of three types: 1) a recent biological discovery, 2) a recent journal article, or an interesting tidbit. These links would be presented in a weekly discussion for students at the start of Thursday’s virtual class. Students are required to read and discuss the posted articles. Students are encouraged to verify the article, discuss its importance and explain how it applies to one of the Learning Objectives found on the first page of each lab. I have created a rubric that I will use to assign points based on level of student activity and engagement. These Discussion forum assignments are worth 10 points, 5 points for article summary and 5 points for peer reviews.
