Impact of Stress on Health
From: Holmes, T.H. & Rahe, R. H. (1967). The social readjustment rating scale. Journal of Psychometry. Changes in circumstances can be stressful and this stress can impact general health and well-being. Mark each event of the Holmes and Rahe Stress Scale that has occurred to you in the past one year. A total score of less than 150 indicates low risk of stress-related illness, a score of between 151-299 indicates a moderate risk of stress related illness and a score of 150 or greater suggests that you are at significant risk of illness due to the stress in your life. After determining your stress score, write a brief 750 word essay on what steps you can take to reduce your score and in what way would this improve your health.
