Military Conscription
Write: 10-15 pages (doubled spaced MLA or APA format) Write: Include a correctly formatted Works Cited Page. Remember the Works Cited Page is in addition to the 10-15 pages required for your research paper, so your Works Cited Page should be on page 11 or at the end of your research paper Research Paper Topic: Over the course of the quarter, we will thoroughly explore the borderlands of gender, race, sexuality, and disability. Your research paper must somehow connect to one or more of the following borderlands issues: age, disability, health, addiction, social class, education, language, legal issues, migration, nationality, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sex, sexuality, traumatic experience, intersectionality, military and/or veteran experience, environmental justice, animal welfare, child welfare, etc. The possibilities are endless. Your topic/thesis must be arguable, not factual. Process: I know 10-15 pages sounds like a lot, but don’t panic! We will have many smaller assignments that will build-up to the research paper making it very manageable. In the second half of the quarter, we will research, write, and draft different components of your research paper. By the time you write your research paper, you will already have a proposal, annotated bibliography, an outline, and even a research paper draft (all of which I will provide detailed feedback on for your revisions!).
