Sourcing Strategy Issues

Managing your total supply chain is becoming more critical.  Especially in terms of risk(exposure).  We keep streamlining our supply chains, reducing cost, which is a good thing, but may be forgot to protect against disruptions.  It is kind of like Disaster Recovery Planning, some organizations just does not take that seriously enough.  In particular, there are risks that are indirect, those are hard to access and price out.  Current strategies are more focused on agility, flexibility, instead of running all over the world to reduce total supply chain costs.   Your thoughts? In addition, review the Sourcing strategy issues.  The big deal is to digitize sourcing as much as you can.  Mckinsey believes there may be up to 3.5% of spend to be saved from source-to-pay.  Well worth the efforts.  there are many articles and pick what you find useful.
